Assistant Director of Alumni Programs
The University of Iowa – Alumni Association (UIAA) is seeking an outgoing, self-motivated individual to manage, develop, plan, and implement alumni-related programs and services; oversee organizational diversity efforts and organize and coordinate alumni constituent groups (Alumni Band, Dance Marathon Alumni Group, etc.), including marketing and communications, volunteer management, and fiscal responsibilities; integrate individual collegiate external relations programs for Lifelong Learning programs, alumni reunion weekend, Homecoming weekend, and joint initiatives with other campus departments, such as the Museum of Art, the Pomerantz Career Center, and the UI Foundation; serve as liaison to various University entities and alumni groups; develop/track program budgets; train/schedule work for support staff; work with other UIAA personnel in the development of sponsorships and promotions; participate in organization-wide strategic planning initiatives and professional and organizational development programs; and prepare reports for and attend periodic meetings of the UIAA’s Board of Directors.
Requirements include: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field such as public relations or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Reasonable (1-3 years) administrative, supervisory, and program experience, including one to three years experience in alumni relations and/or in multi-dimensional event management, and budget development, preparation, and oversight is required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated organizational, time management, and people skills; and computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet skills are also required. Some knowledge of university community and/or the UIAA, and some experience in career development, volunteer management, and database management are desired.
Salary: $37,624 – $40,000
